Chris Hyppa is a WNBA & NBA Skills Trainer. His mission is to inspire and impact player’s lives through the game of basketball. He trains thousands of players each year across the country!
Chris spent six years coaching High School basketball as a Varsity Assistant Coach at his alma mater, Stadium High School (2006-2012). Prior to that, he was an Assistant Coach at Henry Foss High School (2003-2006) in Tacoma, WA. During his three seasons at Foss, the Falcons qualified for the West Central District Play-offs.
Chris has worked camps up and down the West Coast and trained many professional players. He has been fortunate to help mold Tacoma natives Avery Bradley (Boston Celtics) & Abdul Gaddy (University of Washington/PRO) former Gonzaga Bulldog Steven Gray (PRO), WNBA players Courtney Vandersloot (Chicago Sky) Alex Montgomery (New York Liberty) & Lindsey Moore (Minnesota Lynx). He has also worked very closely with Two-Time NAIA All-American from Montana-Western, Brandon Brown, now playing professionally in Brazil.
Hyppa’s passion for the game grew learning from legendary Stadium HS Coaches Dennis Buchholz and Cocke’ brothers Doug & Mike growing up in Tacoma, and takes great pride in the youth from his hometown. He works in conjunction with local YMCA’s, Boy’s and Girl’s Clubs and Recreational Programs to mentor and provide leadership. His passion is evident when you see him conduct workouts and speak with him. “Passion attracts Passion”.
Chris takes great pride in individual skill development and conditioning. His workouts are very unique. He expects his players to train with the same intensity as the message he conveys. His workouts aren’t to create drill robots but to create players who play instinctively. Hyppa not only challenges you physically but aims to take your mind to new places. His experiences playing collegiately and semi-professionally along with his ability to connect with players of all types make training with him unique!
Chris is willing to travel ANYWHERE! Contact to bring him to your gym!
