Chris Hyppa is a Global Skill Development Coach. His mission is to inspire and impact player’s lives through the game of basketball. He trains thousands of players of all ages each year across the country!
Chris has spent over fifteen years coaching High School basketball as a Varsity Assistant Coach. He played a key role in 2016-2017’s State Championship Foss High School (Tacoma,WA) team. He was heavily involved in off-season development as well as during the season. He helped guide Sumner High School to their first State appearance since 1949, placing 6th in 2020. His work behind the scenes with the Sumner HS Girls program has turned them into one of the top programs on the West Coast.
Chris is sought after all over the world! He has run camps all over Europe. He has been part of building Basketball Development Apps and appeared in reality TV shows in China and works with professional teams in South Korea. He has trained many professional players including Three Time NBA Slam Dunk Champion, Nate Robinson, Seattle legend and arguably the best 6th Man in NBA History, Jamal Crawford, All Time NCAA Women’s Scorer, 2017 WNBA #1 pick and Olympic Gold Medalist, Kelsey Plum (Las Vegas Aces), Cameron Brink (Los Angeles Sparks), Paige Bueckers (UCONN), Kiki Rice (UCLA), New Orleans Pelicans Forward Keion Brooks, Chloe (South Carolina) and Kylie (Florida) Kitts, Avery Bradley (Houston Rockets), Quincy Pondexter (NBA/University of Washington Assistant Coach), Aaron Brooks (NBA/NY Knicks Assistant Coach), Abdul Gaddy (University of Washington/PRO) former Gonzaga Bulldog Steven Gray (PRO), WNBA players Courtney Vandersloot (Chicago Sky) Alex Montgomery (New York Liberty) & Lindsey Moore (Minnesota Lynx). He has also worked very closely with Two-Time NAIA All-American from Montana-Western, Brandon Brown, now playing professionally in Europe. Plenty of current high level College, High School & Youth players as well. Most recently he has worked with Stanford All-American Cameron Brink, who is projected to be a Top 5 pick in the 2024 WNBA Draft.
Hyppa’s passion for the game grew while growing up in Tacoma, learning from legendary Stadium HS Coaches Dennis Buchholz and Cocke’ brothers Doug & Mike. He takes great pride in the youth from his hometown. Chris works in conjunction with local YMCA’s, Boy’s and Girl’s Clubs and Recreational Programs to mentor and provide leadership. His passion is evident when you talk with him and watch him conduct workouts.
Hyppa will not only challenge you physically but aims to take your mind to new places. His experiences playing collegiately and semi-professionally along with his ability to connect with players of all types make training with him unique!
